WOW!! What a week! The children are getting comfortable using their "brain" to write and begin to attempt to spell words. My goal this week was to establish a safe environment for the children. I believe after you see the pictures you will believe "goal accomplished." The children are writing and attempting to develop their own sentence after lots of modeling. I modeled daily writing tips and ideas. I am feeling comfortable with this weeks goal. Some students are writing alone while others still need to trace written letters. With varing levels of prior knowledge and ability comes different starting places.
I like the way that you started them off with an example of your writing. This way, they can get an idea as to how they should write on the paper. Your name tags with the alphabet in front of each student is a neat idea. The students are able to look up and form letters that are having trouble with. Keep up the good work and keep them excited about writing.
